About Zen Frog

Zen Frog is an endless jumping game set in a tropical swamp at dusk. You play as a tree frog leaping across lily pads, catching insects for stars and dodging the predators that want to make you their meal. The star system is your life — collect prey to gain stars, get hit by enemies to lose them, and reach zero stars and the run is over. City leaderboards show the longest survival in your city today.

💡 Tips & Strategy ▾

Chase butterflies when stars are low. Butterflies fly high and need double jump — risky but they give a star. When you have only 1 star left, take the risk rather than playing it safe with nothing to collect.
Use tongue near snakes strategically. If a snake is blocking the path and a beetle is just behind it, extend the tongue to stun the snake first, then collect the beetle safely. The tongue stun lasts 2 seconds.
Lily pads sink — never stand still. Every lily pad slowly sinks under your weight. After about 3 seconds on the same pad it submerges. The game rewards constant movement.
Golden fly is worth any risk. The glowing golden fly gives 2 stars AND 3 seconds of invincibility. During invincibility you cannot be harmed — run straight through snakes and herons to collect everything.
Watch the shadow warning under pads. Some lily pads have a snake hiding underneath — a dark shadow visible before you land on it. Jump over those pads rather than landing on them.
Combo multiplier = sprint periods. Collecting prey without getting hit builds a combo multiplier. Three consecutive prey items starts the multiplier. Prioritise prey collection streaks for the highest scores.

What are the stars for?

Stars are your lives. You start with 3. Collecting insects gives you stars (maximum 5). Getting hit by a predator removes 1 star. When all stars are gone, the game ends.

How does the tongue ability work?

Double-tap or press Shift to extend the frog tongue forward. It catches nearby insects without needing to jump, and stuns snakes for 2 seconds. The tongue recharges after every 3 beetles collected.

What is the golden fly?

The golden fly is a rare glowing insect worth 2 stars and 3 seconds of invincibility. During invincibility, predators cannot harm you. It appears approximately every 300-400 metres.

Why do some lily pads look darker?

A shadow under a lily pad means a snake is hiding underneath. Avoid landing on those pads — jump over them instead.
