About Zen Sudoku

Zen Sudoku is a free browser Sudoku game with four difficulty levels, notes mode, and real city leaderboards. Fill the 9x9 grid so every row, column, and 3x3 box contains the numbers 1 through 9. The faster you solve the puzzle with fewer mistakes, the higher your score and the higher your rank in your city today.

💡 Tips & Strategy ▾
  • Scan rows and columns first. Find rows or columns that already have 7 or 8 numbers filled in. The missing numbers are easy to place.
  • Use pencil marks. Enable Notes mode and fill in candidates for empty cells. Cross them out as you place numbers elsewhere.
  • Look for naked singles. If a cell has only one possible candidate after eliminations, that is the answer.
  • Start Easy, move up. Easy gives 5x score multiplier. Expert gives 25x. Master Expert difficulty for the highest leaderboard scores.
